About
Irene, based in the United Kingdom, is a freelance Music Composer focusing on video games. She was classically trained as a violinist and pianist from a young age.
Irene first fell in love with video game music when her parents gifted her an Original Game Boy console. She was heavily absorbed and inspired by the music of Koji Kondo and Junichi Masuda from the series of Super Mario and Pokémon. She later developed a strong interest in orchestral film music from the likes of Alan Silvestri’s and Hans Zimmer, thus, she decided to pursue her studies in Music Composition at the University of Surrey under the supervision of composer/guitarist Milton Mermikides. This was then followed up by a master’s degree at the University of Westminster, specialising in Applied Sound for Interactive Media.
She is also a hobbyist mecha-builder/modeler under the name Borlordam.
